Planning System Changes

In August 2020, the government announced its intention to make sweeping changes to the present planning system and introduced its first consultations under the heading of Planning for the Future.

The govermnent’s final position is expected in late 2021/early 2022.

More papers and consultation documents are anticipated, most of which will put the proposed detail on what are aspirational objectives at the early stages, although it is clear that the government wants to speed up the planning process and provide drivers that will deliver high annual housing targets.

The Little Chalfont Coordination Group will be monitoring progress of these changes, particularly where they could impinge on plans for Little Chalfont and, where considered appropriate, will recommend responses to consultations to both the Little Chalfont Parish Council and Little Chalfont Community Association. These responses may be submitted individually or jointly.

Where responses are submitted, they will be recorded further down on this page, with information about how to access the consultation documents.
